The Good Life Pledge

Goal: Connecting with capital stewards dissatisfied with philanthropy status quo and interested in accelerating their effectiveness in creating a more just and sustainable world.

The Good Life Pledge is a path to enact our duty to become catalysts of shared prosperity. A framework developed by Kat Taylor and Taj James, it reimagines how to leverage capital for change, shifting orientation towards community wealth building and asset transfer.

The Pledge is to transfer 30% of your assets in service of community wealth building strategies.

Why? While Traditional grants are crucial to solving immediate suffering and urgent needs. Asset transfer is the gift that keeps giving, multiplying and circulation in service of a communities’ creativity, wellness and wellbeing. Over time, effective asset transfer can reduce and even eliminate the need for traditional grants. Assets transfer is the most powerful form of philanthropic gift

Chad and Tenah were the first to take the pledge after Kat Taylor and committed to the Village, one of the founding GLP communities.
